Man’s body retrieved with rescue equipment after collision

A man died in last night's collision involving a truck and light motor vehicle.

 

Yet another motorist has tragically lost his life, while another person sustained serious injuries last night, 5 October, after a light motor vehicle collided with a truck on the corner of Malibongwe and South Africa Drive in Cosmo City.

Denver Ramnarain from Quick Response Service (QRS) told Northsider that the accident happened at about 9pm. It is alleged that the car, which was making a turn past the centre island of the road, was hit by an oncoming truck.

This accident comes just a day after the horrific collision also involving a light vehicle and a truck which left one dead on Beyers Naudé Drive in Muldersdrift, 4 October.

Ramnarain added that emergency services had to use rescue equipment to retrieve the deceased from the wreckage in the Cosmo City accident.

Police are investigating the matter.
