Suspects armed with pick-head rob two properties

The suspects were wielding a pick head which they used to threaten the victims.

 

Honeydew police are on the lookout for four suspects accused of committing two house robberies in Weltevreden Park on 2 October.

According to Honeydew Police spokesperson, Captain Balan Muthan, the suspects in both incidents were wielding a pick-head, which they used to threaten the victims.

Muthan indicated that the first robbery occurred on Klapper Avenue, where the suspects stormed into the property and found the victim outside the house. “She was pushed into the house. They [the suspects] took jewellery and a television before fleeing the scene,” he said.

Muthan said the second incident took place on Kastaiing Street. “The suspects, armed with a pick, forced the door open, covered the face of the victim and took a laptop, cellphones and other items,” Muthan explained.

He added that a security response unit fired shots at the suspects as they fled the scene, but no injuries were reported.

The escape vehicle/s has not been identified as yet and no arrests have been made so far, Muthan concluded.
