Update: Water tankers available during planned outage

22 water tankers available to affected residents

Roodepoort — The 22-hour water outage affecting a large number Roodepoort residents is under way, and according to Johannesburg Water (JW) everything is going as planned. The estimated time for supply to start returning to normal is at 5pm today, however, according to the City of Joburg website, it might take from 24 hours to 48 hours to fully recharge the system.

The Kloofendal and Wilro Park water towers as well as the Helderkruin Reservoir will be affected by these repairs, leaving residents in the following areas without water:

•Florida North

• Florida Park and extensions

• Florida Hills and Ext 4

• Floracliffe

• Constantia

• Selwyn

• Constantia Kloof and extensions

• Weltevreden Park

• Wilro Park and extensions

• Carenvale

• Ontdekkers Park

• Honey Hills

• Kloofendal

• Allen’s Nek

• Princess and extensions

• Technikon

• Westgate Park and extensions

• Roodekrans and extensions

• Helderkruin and extensions

• Horizon View

• Witpoortjie

• Grobler Park Ext 14

To assist during this outage, JW has made available 22 water tankers (of which 11 will be roaming tankers assisting all other affected areas).

Water tankers can be found at the following points:

– Corner Oosthuizen Street (1 tank)

– Corner Scafell and Chiltern Roads ( Florida Hills) (1 tank)

– Checkers Constantia (2 tanks)

– Pick n Pay Wilro Park (2 tanks)

– Wilrogate Mall (1 tank)

– Flora Shopping Centre (1 tank)

– MacDonalds on Beacon Street (1 tank)

– Horizon View (1 tank)

– Engen Service Station in Grobler Park (1 tank)

– Total Service Station on Ouklip Road (1 tank)
