Mkhize was stabbed to death in the early hours of Saturday (30 September) when he and his crew were flagged down by the owner of a pub on Van Wyk Street in Roodepoort CBD. The owner had trouble with patrons who refused to leave. The crowd turned on the police and Mkhize was fatally stabbed.
