Kofifi now on kykNET

Celebrate the stories of our coloured communities.

When the creative director of Kofifi Media Group (KMG), Wayne le Roux speaks about the group and its many offshoot projects, his passion is contagious.

And now KMG, in association with Bruin Productions, has taken it to the next level – a show on kykNET’s Kyknet & Kie.

Claudia Jones.

“Kofifiland is a brand new magazine show which will tell the true stories of people in and around the communities of Kofifi, otherwise known as Westbury, Newclare, Riverlea, Bosmont, Davidsonville and Eldorado Park.

“Favourite presenters Claudia Jones and Reggie Philander will take viewers on an exciting journey, exploring and finding the raw talent in and around Kofifi. The show pays homage to the rich history of Sophiatown and the influential people who come from these communities. Kofifiland allows the viewer into the lives, culture and essentially the lifestyle of the brown community, incorporating elements of youth, talk, community, arts and culture, and sport,” said Le Roux.

Micheal Medhurst and Sara-Lize Loots.

“The offering prides itself on serving as a storytelling platform. ‘Van toeka tot nou’ is what best describes Kofifiland, which fuses the old and the new. Also, producers and creators take on the responsibility of putting forth a new cultural and historical representation of the community.

“Put together by a team of young and passionate creatives, Kofifiland is here to tell ordinary stories extraordinarily,” concluded Le Roux.

The show airs on DSTV Channel 145 from 4pm to 5pm on Thursdays.
