Gateway steals the show at Raca

Diamond awards signify results above 95 per cent, while platinum represents results between 90 and 94 per cent.

The Gateway Society villagers achieved excellent results in this year’s Randfontein Arts and Culture Association (Raca) Eisteddfod.

About 30 villagers participated in several events, such as singing, dancing and recitals in the open category. They brought home some significant prizes, such as six diamond and 10 platinum awards in the singing, dancing and recital category, as well as 14 diamond, 25 platinum and 10 gold in the visual arts category.

Diamond awards signify results above 95 per cent, while platinum represents results between 90 and 94 per cent.

“This is an amazing achievement for our disabled villagers who face endless limitations on a daily basis. Well done one and all. We are extremely proud of you,” said Gateway’s fundraising manager, Moira Short.
