Have A Heart’s golf day for charity

All money will be used for residents' needs

The Have A Heart Care Centre for the elderly in Roodepoort is calling on all golfers and companies to support their golf day.

“We are a non-profit organisation that cares for Roodepoort’s less fortunate senior citizens, which include semi-disabled persons. Currently we have approximately 31 residents in the centre,” said Marius Oelofse, the centre’s chairperson. He added that they are planning to host a golf day to raise funds for food, electricity, rent and all the other various needs. “Because we do not receive any financial assistance from the government, we need to look at alternative ways to come up with the money to cover our monthly expenses,” he said.

The golf day will take place on 7 November at the Ruimsig Country Club from 11am. A four-ball will cost R2 000 or R500 per player, which includes food and a golf cart. “If you would like to sponsor a hole, it will cost R1 000 and you will then be allowed to put up banners to advertise your business,” said Marius. To avoid disappointment, bookings should be done on or before 25 October.”We will also have a raffle where you can win a whole lamb for only R50 per ticket. Your contribution will make a huge difference in the lives of our residents, therefore we are appealing to all golfers and companies to support and assist us to make our golf day a success,” Marius said. For more information and bookings, contact Marius on 082 952 7151, Bong on 082 264 7957 or Anton on 082 575 5773.
