With Monday (25 September) being a public holiday, residents may wonder whether Pikitup will collect their refuse.
Pikitup, the waste-management entity of the City of Johannesburg, would like to advise residents that household refuse collection, commercial services as well as garden sites will operate as usual.
The schedule for Monday is as follows:
• Refuse will be collected as normal.
• Street cleaning will only be done in the inner city, portions of the outer city and in Alexandra.
• Recyclable material will only be collected in scheduled areas.
• No bulky waste will be collected.
• Garden sites will be open until 5pm with security staff in attendance. Pikitup staff will be available until 12 noon.
• All landfill as well as commercial sites will be operating as usual.
