Motorists using Ontdekkers Road have been warned after a spate of robberies in recent months. One of the hot spots is the Ontdekkers Road and William Nicol Drive intersection.
The modus operandi of the suspects is to approach vehicles during busy periods. The armed suspects approach a vehicle that is at the traffic light waiting for it to turn green.

The suspects use their firearms to force the driver of the vehicle to open the boot. They take all the valuables and then escape. Just this week, a driver was at the intersection waiting for the traffic lights to change when he was robbed.

The criminals first took his cellphone and wallet then forced him to open the boot. Police could not comment on the incident as they are still investigating.
