Heritage Day extravaganza

Heritage celebrations at Horizon View Primary

A highly praised spectacular was put on at Horizon View Primary School to celebrate Heritage Day. The learners and teachers were wearing their traditional clothing as they cheered on the performances on the school stage. From gumboot and traditional dancers to dramas and comedy sketches, the show entertained and educated the learners about embracing and accepting cultural differences. School principal, Mrs Sono, said everyone’s culture is important and should not be undermined.

Ayanda Ndlotyeni.

“Our learners must learn to be confident in their culture as well as to be tolerant of other people’s cultures. We should not look down on the cultures of others because each culture is rich in knowledge and history. I am grateful to the staff and parents for making sure such a show took place.”
