Newborn found dead in pile of rubble

Tragically there were no signs of life. The time of death of the little girl has not been established. (Nick Dollman from Netcare 911).

 

The lifeless body of an infant was found dumped on a pile of building rubble near a sand road in Zandspruit informal settlement on 20 September.

The body of the baby girl was discovered at 12.48pm.

“The baby’s umbilical cord was still attached and it appeared to be a full term delivery,” said Nick Dollman, Netcare 911’s media liaison officer.

Dollman said, “Tragically there were no signs of life – and the time of death was not determined.”

He added that the baby was attended to by a Netcare 911 Advanced Life Support paramedic and documentation pertaining to her death was handed over to authorities at the scene.

“The police and the JMPD were also at the scene and are investigating the incident,” he concluded.
