Biker critical after being dragged

Truck and bakkie drivers not injured.

A motorcyclist, believed to be in his 30s, was left critically injured yesterday morning after being knocked over by a bakkie and dragged beneath a truck on Albertina Sisulu Road in Witpoortjie.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at approximately 10.30am, finding the man lying next to the truck.

Paramedics immediately assessed the victim and found him in a critical condition, having sustained extensive wounds to his legs and back.

Treatment and advanced life support interventions were immediately initiated in an effort to stabilise the patient’s vital signs.

Once treated, the man was transported to Leratong Provincial Hospital for further care.

The driver of the truck and the bakkie both escaped injury.

Local authorities were on the scene to conduct an investigation into the matter.
