No work goes unnoticed at Honeydew Police Station

Outstanding Honeydew Police Station employees rewarded for their hard work.

Two Honeydew Police Station employees received tokens of appreciation from the Honeydew Community Policing Forum under the Goodwill Shield initiative .

On 14 September, Sergeant Mmapeu Magagane, a junior detective, and cleaner Nombeko Mrwetyanana were recognised by their heads of department and the CPF for their remarkable work in their respective lines of duty.

The duo was rewarded with the Goodwill Shield status for the past two months. In addition, they received sponsored meal vouchers from elite restaurants in the area.

Sergeant Magagane, who has 11 years’ experience in policing, said she felt so motivated to be honoured for the work she does. “I’m dedicated to what I do,” she said, adding that she was surprised that her detective commander, Colonel Wilson Seshoka, was taking note of her work.

Seshoka said she had to be recognised following her great contribution. “She’s new and she’s doing a good job. The prosecutors are impressed with her. She goes all out and puts it extra hours to make sure the job is done,” he reflected. Sergeant Magagane has successfully investigated a case of theft which landed the suspects behind bars.

Nombeko, who ensures the station is clean, said she will be taking her child out for lunch with the two meal tickets that she received.

Head of Supply Chain at the station, Lieutenant Colonel Victor Saile, hailed Nombeko, describing her as a reliable worker who never complains.

Public relations officer for the CPF, Jon Rosenberg, congratulated the duo and said they serve as a great example at the station. He also extended his gratitude to the meal sponsors, Spur on Eastwood Avenue and Mugg & Bean at Town Square.
