National Be an Angel Day

Put others before yourself on #NationalBeAnAngelDay

Being kind goes a long way, so take a few minutes to be kind to each other today, as 22 August is National Be An Angel Day.

This day was created to celebrate those who do good deeds and are kind to each other.

We have all experienced moments in our lives where we have called someone an angel. It might have been the hand that offered to help you up after a fall, or the fireman rescuing someone from a burning building. Whether it was a minor thing helping you cope on a bad day, or a major life-changing event, most of us have looked skywards and given thanks for someone’s help.

In 1993, Jayne Howard Feldman started encouraging others to do random acts of kindness and since then, the concept has grown. Today, it is receiving a lot more recognition as everybody is jumping on the bandwagon and performing random acts of kindness.

Celebrate today by putting the needs of others before yourself. Offer to mow the neigbour’s lawn or watch their kids for a few hours to relieve some stress. Show your friends and family how grateful you are for everything they do, by giving them a call, a hug or just a thank you note. Fill a random parking meter, volunteer at a soup kitchen, plant a tree or two or clean up your local park. You can even give a stranger some flowers and brighten up their day!

Embrace generosity today and pay it forward. Strive daily to show more kindness in your everyday life.
