Temporary road closure to affect Kastaiing Street

Motorists are warned of temporary road closures on Kastaiing Street.

In line with the F46 Rand Water Project, Maziya General Services are currently establishing a pit site for pipe-jacking.

Pipe-jacking is the process of tunneling under the road and pushing the new infrastructure – the water pipe –through the tunnel. This process is normally reserved for busy streets as it does not disturb the road surface.

The site will be in the corridor of unused land between 209 and 212 Kastaiing Street, and will ultimately link up with the Weltevreden Reservoir.

For technical reasons, Maziya will have to close Kastaiing Street for all through traffic at that point, as from 28 August. The temporary closures only apply during working hours and access from either Tamarisk Avenue or Pruimbos Avenue will be for residents only. The closures will last for approximately four months.

The alternate access roads to Kastaiing Street from JG Strydom Road are Lobelia Avenue and Harebell Street. Maziya regrets any inconvenience that may be caused.
