Roodepoort Theatre is celebrating women in theatre by hosting the Divas Complete Show at the Roodepoort Main Theatre.
The show is produced by Kofifi Media and written and directed by Fatima Abdool. It features six local female artists such Jacqui Carpede of Jamali, Sade Anderson, Taslyn Prinsloo, Whitney Nicholson, Claudia Witbooi (Yoma) and Walterique Sandows. The duration of the show is 120 minutes and each artist will sing between four and five songs.
The divas they will be celebrating include Brenda Fassie, Adele, Sharon Phillips, Christina Aguilera, Betty Wright, Chaka Khan, Donna Summer, Diana Ross, Miriam Makeba and Whitney Houston.
This show promises to be entertaining, nostalgic and filled with magical moments. Although the stage is filled with dynamic women it is not a show for women only but for the entire family, young and old.
Kofifi media has partnered with the Roodepoort Theatre Youth Development Programme to get aspiring and professional artists on the same stage to create networking opportunities and mentoring platforms.
