20 arrested during stop-and-search operations

Charges include murder.

This past week, Roodepoort Police made 20 arrests during special operations.

The suspects, aged between 22 and 53, were arrested on the following charges: possession of drugs, assault with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH), crossing the railway line, possession of dagga, shoplifting, common assault, murder, possession of suspected house-breaking implements, drunkenness and public drinking.

They were detained at Roodepoort Police Station.

The police have once again warned the public that crossing a railway line anywhere except at designated bridges is a punishable criminal offence.
