Idols dazzle at Florrie Fees

Florrie Idols a success

The Florriefees kicked off with a highly successful Idols-type singing competition on Friday. The competition was part of a week-long festival hosted by Hoërskool Florida.

Kristi Lambrecht also sang a song by a popular musician.

The 16 singers who graced the stage were the cream of the crop after making it through the auditions held at Flora Centre last month. On stage, the singers had one chance to impress judges Hansie Roodt, Abrie van Wyk and Leandi Lombard. The audience encouraged each contestant with loud cheers and applauded them for being courageous enough to stand on stage and perform.

Johan van Loggerenberg, Renier Jacobs, Ruhan Oosthuizen and Donovan Britz.

After the singers had showed off their talents, the judges tallied up their scores, and announced the winners. In third place was Michael Bakker; Renier Liebenberg was in second place, and the winner of this year’s Florries Idols competition is … Dechanè van Rooyen.
