The cleanup was made possible by Ward 85 councillor Carl Mann, Alan Webb and Hennie Schreuder who took time to meet with various departments from City Parks.

The challenges include the following:

• Security and maintenance of the greenbelt area and entrances to the suburb (including the mountain ridge) not satisfactorily

• The area between Strubens Valley and Christian de Wet Road needs to be cleaned to allow the security companies to patrol (from the mountain up to Clearwater Mall)

• The reeds etc in the greenbelt area bordering Florin Road in lower Strubens Valley Security need to be cleared and the area patrolled • Drivers are speeding and driving recklessly

• Vagrants on the street corners pose a problem

Schreuder thanked City Parks officials for meeting with the community, listening to their concerns and acting on them.
