Sketchy details about abandoned puppy

Mystery surrounds the whereabouts of a brown puppy that was dropped off in a duffel bag at one of the animal hospitals in the area.

Local pet lovers expressed shock after a post circulated on social media about a puppy that was allegedly found in a duffel bag in Wilgeheuwel on 24 July.

A concerned resident, whose name was given to the Northsider, shared the post as he arranged to take the dog to a local animal clinic.

“Some heartless dude dropped this dog off in a black duffel bag,” he stated.

“It was found by a nice [guy] who brought it to the vet,” he added.

Unfortunately the Northsider was unable to find out where the puppy had been taken to, even after contacting most of the animal clinics in the area, including the Roodepoort SPCA to enquire about its whereabouts. None of them had an admission report for the puppy.
