Westgate Super Regional Shopping Centre hosted a heartwarming Mandela Day this year. The centre collaborated with the Madiba Jive team to create the world’s biggest Madiba Jive.
“We extended the invitation to our tenants, shoppers, security and cleaning teams who joined us on this inspiring dance to celebrate, unify, and share joy throughout South Africa and the world.
Tenants at Westgate participated and paid Tribute in a Video for 67 Minutes for Madiba,” said the shopping centre’s Marketing Manager, Gail Mashiane.
Those invited wore branded uniforms or blue jeans with a branded or plain blue shirt. Donations in the form of shoes in a wearable and good condition were also accepted at the shopping centre.
“We also received tinned food, toiletries and blankets in our three big donation boxes placed throughout the centre as part of our #WestgateCares initiative,” said Gail.
