Enjoy a round of golf with the Lions Club of Wilro Park

Are you an avid golf player looking for an opportunity to showcase your skills for a good cause?

The Lions Club of Wilro Park will be hosting their annual golf day on 8 August at the Ruimsig Country Club.

According to Sandy van Heerden, the club’s public relations officer, this is one of two of their major fundraising projects. “The golf day and the cycle challenge are very important, because without these two events we will not be able to do our projects throughout the year – to help those less fortunate than ourselves,” she said. The format for the golf day will be Better Ball – Scramble to drive, and will cost R2 200 per four-ball. This includes two golf carts, halfway house as well as dinner at the prize-giving.

The first prize will be to the value of R3 500, second prize R2 800 and the third prize R2 500. There will also be various other golf-related prizes, including two for the longest drives, two for the closest to pin, the longest day and many more. There are opportunities for individuals and companies to sponsor a hole as well. “Costs to sponsor a hole range from R1 500 to R3 500 which included your four-ball or any donations,” said Sandy.

There will only be 46 carts available and Sandy advises anyone interested to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. To book your place, call Magdel on 082 254 9583 (payment confirms booking, as no payments will be taken on the day).

For any other queries or fundraising opportunities, contact Delphine on 072 174 5323 or Leslie on 071 401 7800.
