Over the last few years, Roodepoort Round Table 162i has supported the Gateway Society and contributed to its continuation.
The society was in desperate need of new garden equipment and the Round Table, which has a clubroom on the society’s premises, heeded the call and paid for a new lawnmower and two brush-cutters.

Gateway’s maintenance manager, Ken Taylor, was thrilled with the equipment, which was handed over on 4 July, and was given advice from the equipment distributor, Gert Venter of GP Lawnmowers.
Gateway Society’s fundraising manager, Moira Short, said the society is extremely grateful to the Roodepoort Round Table for their never-ending support. Representing the Round Table at the handover was public relations officer, Thornton Pappas, who said that supporting organisations and making a positive impact is part of what Round Table is all about, and they are happy to support Gateway.
“The main aim of Round Table is to enjoy fellowship with people from all walks of life, where we exchange ideas, learn from each others’ experiences and together contribute to the civic life of our community,” added table president, Riaan Wennick.
