A family member of two men who were reportedly injured during a crash between two vehicles at the intersection of Hendrik Potgieter and Fredenharry Roads on 9 July, has come out to set the record straight.
The concerned family member, who wishes to remain anonymous, has produced evidence that the bakkie driver was not to blame.
The source came forward with CCTV footage recorded on a cellphone, unpacking the accident.

Although the footage is not clear, the source revealed that the other vehicle jumped a red traffic light and collided with the bakkie, which was turning from Hendrik Potgieter Road into Fredenharry Road.
Based on speculation the Northsider initially reported that the bakkie had made a U-turn, which resulted in the collision. The bakkie crashed into a residential security wall.
The family member also disclosed that the bakkie driver is still in critical care in a hospital while the passenger is nursing his injuries at home.
“The bakkie driver is still in ICU but is doing better. He has fractures and a serious bump on the head. The passenger has a broken collarbone and head injuries.”
Authorities are investigating the case.
