Between Thursday and Saturday (6 to 8 July), the Roodepoort Police made a number of arrests during stop-and-search operations.
Twenty-seven suspects aged between 22 and 55 were arrested for various crimes, including possession of precious metals, shoplifting, possession of dagga and other drugs, contravention of the Liquor Act, house-breaking and theft, fraud, possession of breaking-in implements, domestic violence, crossing the railway line illegally and drinking in public.

The suspects were charged and detained at Roodepoort Police Station.
