Mandela Day celebrations around the corner

Mandela Day celebrations are just around the corner and companies all over the country are gearing up to assist a needy charity or home. One of the homes that benefits from such initiatives is the Baby Moses Baby and Child Sanctuary, which is in need of assistance with financial commitments, groceries, cleaning agents, toiletries and gardening equipment.

This year, the home was also chosen to be a secondary beneficiary of the CEO Sleepout, and has benefited from a number of sympathy sleepouts, receiving food parcels and clothing. These will also help their Bodibe project in Lichtenburg.

The emergency home that is being renovated is progressing well. It has been stocked with equipment and furniture. Some minor repairs and final painting will be completed shortly, whereafter it will be officially opened. Baby Moses started as a welfare organisation for abandoned babies only, but has mushroomed to 138 beneficiaries, mostly orphaned children in 12 homes, five of which are in Gauteng and seven in the Northwest Province. The organisation has 14 staff members.
