Child’s artwork wins with Town Square at Constantia competition

A proud father received a R2 000 voucher for his son's Father's Day artwork.

Broll Properties, the managers of Town Square at Constantia, reached out to the local schools for a fun Father’s Day competition.

Broll sponsored the paper and paint and asked five nursery schools and day care centress to let their Grade 0 to 1 children create a Father’s Day artwork. The pictures were framed and hung around Town Square from 17 to 30 June to bring people to the centre.

The winning artwork was announced and the prizes handed out on 6 July. Qhawe Nxokwana won a R2 000 Town Square voucher for his dad, Scotch Hamoonga, and a R5 000 voucher for his school, Little Bean Early Learning Centre.

Nxokwana’s teacher, Cindy Louw, explained that the artwork was all his own work – he only needed help to stick the little fish and other items onto his work, but even then he gave the creative direction.

Deputy principal, Michelle Meyer, received the school’s voucher on behalf of the owner and principal of the school, Debbie Brandsma. She thanked Broll for recognising local schools and getting them involved in their initiative.
