Video: Driver narrowly escapes hijacking
Suspected hijackers made two unsuccessful attempts.
At around 7pm yesterday (19 June) evening a request was received on the Florida Hills Community Crime (FHCC) group for help at a residence in the area.
A Florida CPF Sector 1 member from Florida Hills Residents Forum (FHRF) responded immediately. En route he called for backup on the Sector 1 WhatsApp group.
He found the victim and her neighbours standing in the road. He was told that three men in a black or dark-blue BMW 1 series attempted to hijack the victim when she was entering her property in her white Range Rover. The victim might have been followed from the Virgin Active club on 14th Ave in Constantia Kloof.

She was not harmed in the incident.
Patrollers from Maraisburg and Delarey CPF also attended the scene and a lookout was given Gauteng-wide for the suspects and getaway vehicle.
APCAN Security Group officers combed the area but the suspects had fled.
Approximately 30 minutes after this incident a call came in from Honeydew CPF Sector 2 that one of their residents reported that she had also almost become the victim of a hijacking at the Florida Hills Veterinary Clinic on Ontdekkers Road in Florida Hills.
She managed to speed away and escape her attackers.
