Photos: Another building burnt by ‘protesters’

Same business targeted three times.

More violence erupted on Albertina Sisulu Road opposite Princess informal settlement last night (8 June).

So-called protesters burnt down Vulcan Tyres offices at about 9pm. The previous night they set the business’ storeroom alight and on Monday other buildings on the premises were torched. The protests that have been carrying on for more than a month have been marred by violence and looting. Three trucks had also been set alight prior to this week’s violence.

The protests are believed to be about service delivery but police said it has become sheer criminality. Albertina Sisulu Road is currently closed between Corlett Avenue and Wilgespruit Street.
