Young pedestrian injured in Westgate Park accident
The boy only sustained moderate injuries
A nine-year old boy was knocked over by a light motor vehicle on Bonny Doone Road yesterday (21 May).
The accident happened at approximately 5.20pm in front of the Volkswagen Dealership at the Westgate Shopping Mall.

Netcare 911 paramedics were dispatched to the scene. “Paramedics found that the boy only sustained minor to moderate injuries and his condition was stable,” said Nick Dollman, Netcare 911 spokesperson.
The boy was treated on scene, and transported to a nearby hospital for further assessment and care.
Officials from Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department also attended the incident. The cause of the accident will be investigated by the authorities.
