How to use the JRA’s Find&Fix App

Do you know about the Find&Fix App?

Have you ever wished for an easier and faster way to be able to communicate with municipal entities? If your answer is “Yes!”, read on.

With the Johannesburg Roads Agency’s (JRA) Find&Fix App, you can now report road-related issues faster than ever before. The City of Johannesburg’s population is constantly growing, and the JRA must always be at the forefront of innovation and community engagement.

“We need to empower our citizens to be our eyes and ears everywhere they go,” the entity said.

In an attempt to enhance their accessibility and customer service levels, the Find&Fix mobile application was developed. This app allows road users to report road-related defects at a click of a button. The app has user- friendly features, enabling road users to take a photo of the problem being reported, register the location via GPS signal, and notify the JRA of potholes, missing manhole covers, weeds growing in the road, defective traffic lights and any other infrastructural faults needing urgent attention.

All you need is a smartphone that operates on Windows Phone 8, Android or iOS. You can download the Windows Phone app from https://www.WindowsPhone.com and search for ‘Find&Fix’. For the iOS app, visit the iTunes store on https://itunes.apple.com and search for ‘JRA Find&Fix’. The Android app can be found by visiting https://Play.google.com and searching for ‘JRA Find&Fix’.

How to use the Find&Fix App:

• To log a service request, ensure your GPS Location Services are turned on, touch the Find&Fix icon on your phone and go to one of the service request types.

• After your request has been logged, your request’s status will be set to new and sent to the JRA call centre. It may take up to 15 minutes for your request to appear.

• The information will be validated by a JRA call centre operator before the status will be set to active. If necessary, the operator will add a comment.

• If there is any changes in the status of your request, you will receive a notification via the app.

• Once your request has been completed, the status of the service request will be change to closed.

It is important to remember that, while the app is intended to make logging of service delivery requests easier, the JRA does not condone the use of cellphones while driving. Motorists are urged to only use the app when they are stationary and it is safe to do so.

If you have downloaded the app, but are struggling to use it, please contact the JRA by sending an email to find&fixfeedback@jra.org.za. Please provide your name, contact telephone number, device type, operating system version and a brief description of your problem.
