MUST READ: Two killed in Constantia Kloof intersection crash

CONSTANTIA KLOOF – A motor vehicle collision involving a light motor vehicle and a truck has left two people dead.

Two men were killed and another injured when a light motor vehicle rear-ended a truck at the Hendrik Potgieter and Jim Fouche roads intersection in Constantia Kloof on the morning of 8 May.
Russel Meiring, spokesperson for ER24, said paramedics arrived on the scene to find both the truck and light motor vehicle in the left-hand lane of the road.

“Upon closer inspection, paramedics found the bodies of two men lying trapped in the front of the light motor vehicle,” Meiring said.

He added, “Unfortunately, both men had sustained numerous, fatal injuries. Nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead on the scene.”
Meiring also mentioned that the injured man was treated and rushed to a local hospital.

“A third man was found lying in the rear of the vehicle. Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained only moderate injuries. The man was treated for his injuries and was thereafter transported to Lenmed Hospital for further treatment,” Meiring explained, adding that the truck driver was assessed and found to have escaped injury.
