National Superhero Day

Honour both your fictional and real heroes on #NationalSuperheroDay

28 April is National Superhero Day! It’s observed annually as a day to honour your superheroes – both fictional and real.

National Superhero Day was created by Marvel Comics employees in 1995. Batman, Superman, Captain America, Wonder Woman, Iron Man, Hulk and Spiderman are just some of the superhero names we recognise. Even though they are fictional, these superheroes are great role models for our children – serving and protecting while fighting evil.

But, there are many real life superheroes that may not possess superpowers or wear capes who also serve as great role models who serve and protect while fighting evil. Some of these heroes include military personnel, police officers and firefighters – to name just a few.

To celebrate today, take your favourite superhero to lunch and say thank you for all they do.

Use #NationalSuperheroDay to post photos on social media.
