Love, laughter and play time at first Tekkie Tax Play Day
RUIMSIG – Tekkie Tax and Sarda held a fun play day for children from Child Welfare and Alma School.
South African Riding for the Disabled Association Gauteng (Sarda) recently held their first Tekkie Tax Play Day.
Children from Child Welfare Germiston and Alma School Pretoria For Intellectually and Physically Disabled Children, as well as the Tekkie Tax ambassadors for the animal and disability sectors, along with their mascots, were invited to the play day at an equestrian centre.
The children enjoyed a fun-filled and carefree morning where they played with soccer balls, hoola hoops, a jumping castle and joined in a scavenger hunt.
They also interacted with Sarda’s ponies and miniature donkeys. The animal mascot for Tekkie Tax, Joy Dog‘s old English sheepdogs, also joined the party and were a favourite among the children.
“It is the first time we have attended a Tekkie Tax Play Day at an equestrian centre. The children don’t get this kind of exposure and they are excited to interact with the horses,” said Alma School teacher, Jenine Esterhyusen.
The day was also a celebration of Tekkie Tax ambassadors with many honoured guests in attendance. Annelise de Jager, patron of the project said,
“We do not believe in fancy media events, so we rather organised a joyful children’s event that we would like to invite the media to.”
National Tekkie Tax Day is on 26 May, however, Andre Kilian of Mad Events, said there would be a Tekkie Tax concert later in the year.
More information about the concert will be released on Tekkie Tax Day and some big names in the music industry are expected to be involved.
