National Earth Day

Learn more about the Earth on #NationalEarthDay

22 April is National Earth Day, which is observed annually around the world.

This day is held to demonstrate support for environmental protection and Earth Day organisers globally promote green campaigns to save the Earth.

The concept of Earth Day was established at a San Francisco UNESCO conference in 1969. On 21 March 1970, a sanctioned proclamation was signed by the United Nations’ Secretary-General, U Thant. US Senator, Gaylord Nelson, founded Earth Day on 22 April 1970.
