Eleven-year-old requires funds to head to Talent America

WELTEVREDEN PARK – A young contemporary dancer is raising funds to compete in Talent America in July.

A young, talented local dancer, Brooklyn McGregor has less than three months to raise enough funds to book herself a plane ticket to America.

The 11-year-old was selected at Talent Africa Nationals as a member of the South African team to represent the country at Talent America.

She was one of seven Ashlee Dance Company’s dancers who received their Gauteng colours for performing arts.

Her proud dance teacher, Ashlee Herbst told the Roodepoort Northsider that at the prize giving, seven of her dancers received silver medals and McGregor was awarded a gold medal.

Herbst added that her team had started fundraising initiatives for the youngster and her family.

“McGregor will be taking her mom and dad with her and a total amount of R165 864 is needed for the trip,” she said.
