General overview of Round Table

It is said that when you join a local Round Table, you make friends for life.
And when you realise there are 12 tables in the Gauteng area alone, you begin to understand the bigger opportunities that Round Table can give you. “This is where you should start to understand Tabling,” said Riaan Wennick, chairman of Roodepoort Round Table 162i.
He said it is only when you evolve from member to tabler that there is a realisation of the national aspect of the association. “You will develop an understanding that you can meet and make friends with people all over the country. The next step, International Tabling, puts the icing on your understanding of the Round Table cake. International Tabling will show you the most exciting and rewarding benefit of joining this organisation – it allows you to meet many tablers from many associations in many countries.”
Riaan said tabling is not about going to the same club twice a month and meeting the same people. “Tabling is about meeting many people from many walks of life, in many different locations and from many different countries.”
The West Rand Round Tables recently joined the Record’s Food Drive, in order to assist as many needy people in the Roodepoort area as possible.
The current economic climate and the rapid approach of cold winter nights mean that more people struggle to make ends meet. The objective of the Food Drive is to make life a little easier for those who need it the most.
