This has been predicted for Gauteng by The South African Weather Service, but two other credible sources that were consulted – meteorologist Kobus Botha and the Reënval SA Facebook page – indicated that Roodepoort will fall prey to these storms.

The storms are due to a cold front that will be moving across the country’s southern coastal parts, and a strong upper-air trough in the interior that draws in moist tropical air. Residents are urged to take the necessary precautions, especially by being careful as far as lightning is concerned.
