Searching for that 25-hour day?

ROODEPOORT – What would you do with an extra four to five hours in a week?

Ever feel like you could do so much more if you just had a few extra hours in the day?

Roodepoort Chamber of Commerce and Industry member, Allan Harvey, a motivational and performance coach, said time management was a misnomer.

He believes since everyone has 24 hours in a day, no one should be more successful than others because of time and knows he can find an extra four to five hours in anyone’s week if they follow his approach to time.

Harvey said many people find they have a very busy day where they run around and were in meetings but nothing sits in the out tray at the end of the day.

Harvey’s advice is to take control of your day and not blame others for interruptions and delays, it is how you handle the situation that determines productivity.

Harvey’s five tips to a more productive day:

  • Finish whatever you start
  • Learn to say ‘no’
  • Have digital detoxes where you switch off your phone and avoid the interruptions of calls, messages or notifications
  • Do not have to-do lists as items can easily be pushed to the next day
  • Allot a specific amount of time to reply to emails and messages.

Harvey will present a workshop titled, Time management – a misnomer, on behalf of the Roodepoort chamber on 29 March at the Eagle Canyon Golf Estate.

Details: To book for the talk, contact the chamber on 010 595 9644; rocci@rocci.org; or visit their website.
