JCF and Life Warriors help feed the poor

Helping those in need

The Johannesburg Care Foundation (JCF) recently partnered with the Bread of Life Warriors to feed more than 150 children and adults, at the Kathrada Park informal settlement and Claremont.

The JCF is a registered as an NPO (non-profit organisation) with the Department of Social Development and as a PBO (public benefit organisation) with SARS. Their mission is to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate, sick and poor in our society.

The JCF aims to assist welfare organisations that are unable or do not have the capacity to procure funds or implement projects due to severe budgetary constraints, by connecting individuals and businesses who can support them.

“Children and the aged form our main focus, and our constitution requires us to support these target groups, both materially and financially,” said JCF chairperson, Llewellyn Ryan.

“Long-time residents Mama Grace and Mama Moira have been feeding about 150 children and adults once a week and handing out sandwiches twice a week at the Claremont Primary School, and paying for all of this out of their own pockets.”

The JCF focuses on poverty relief and is appealing to the community to help with groceries and meat to support these women in their good work.
