MUST READ: Multiple vehicle accident on Doreen Road

RUIMSIG – Reckless driving suspected for collision this afternoon.

Five vehicles were involved in a collision on Doreen Road this afternoon (22 March).

It is unclear at this stage what the cause of the accident was.

However, one of the drivers involved, Bonakele Nene, who came out unscathed, alleged that  the driver of a silver Toyota Prado was on her mobile phone which caused her to lose focus and to drive into oncoming traffic.

“I was driving up Doreen Road when the Prado came to hit my car and I suspect that she was on the phone at the time,” said Nene.

Bonakele Nene’s Kia wrecked on the side of the road.

After hitting Nene’s Kia, which veered off the road, the Prado then went on to crash into four other cars.

A mini-bakkie  smashed into a tree and a red Audi veered off the road and rolled over an embankment, injuring a woman and her son on-board.
