The Living with Hope Apostolic Faith Mission Church of Weltevreden Park is inviting community members to attend free workshops offered by its outreach programme, Bounce Back.
During the workshops, industry professionals address different issues such as relationship management, parenting and stress management.
Pastor Alex Oosthuizen explained that many people in the community do not have the finances to seek emotional help from professionals, and thus the outreach programme was created.
“The church is not promoted during the workshops and the workshops are not based in Christianity. We are not trying to get more members, our passion is to help people – the church is just used as a venue,” Oosthuizen said.
Each month deals with a new topic and the workshops are presented in English.
Workshops running this year:
- Bounce Back from life-threatening illness – 15 and 22 March
- Managing my relationships – 17, 24, 31 May and 7 June
- Effective communication – 21 and 28 June
- Parenting with confidence – 16, 23, 30 August and 6 September
- Ignorance is not bliss: Sexual abuse of children is a reality – 13, 20 and 27 September
- Stress management – 18, 25 October and 1, 8 November.
