Tshepang is looking for Miss African Beauty

Fundraiser for charity

The Tshepang Programme for orphaned and vulnerable children is looking for inner beauty while they host Miss African Beauty.

The event is a beauty project to fund raise for the programme and the search for a young girl who fits the criteria has already started. Intelligence, explore and health are some of the ideals the judges will be looking for in their auditions.

The competition will also have a talent round to give the contestants a chance to show off what they can do. Girls between the ages of 16 and 21 years old are eligible to enter.

“Our programme supports girls and boys in roles of leadership. So we would love to invite sponsors who are keen to assist us in continuing to uplift the community, who are like-minded and share our vision, with resources to grow a culture of brave women in a future we want to be living in,” said Mathapelo Dipale from the programme.

“This project replaces our annual Miss Princess pageant and with this competition, we want to find more than just a beautiful face. This project is the first of our big fundraisers and we are urging the community to come forward and support us.”

Auditions to be a contestant in the pageant have already started. The judges have been visiting schools and organisations to find those interested in being part of the project. Those who want to prove they have what it takes to be Miss African Beauty will pay a fee of R50 and all proceeds will go directly to the orphanage programme.
