Young players need help

Association needs your help

The Roodepoort Primary Schools Football Association manages football on the West Rand. With Chairperson Deon Moyce at its helm, the association currently has 22 schools participating in the league. Every season, the league sends two representative teams to the Bill Steward Primary Schools Football tournament during the June/ July school holidays.

This year, the inter-provincial tournament will be held at Camp Discovery just outside of Pretoria and hosted by the Football Association of Pretoria Primary Schools.

The tournament is an opportunity for talent scouts to select young players with potential. It is a learning experience for young players and exposes them to the rigours of tournament football. It is also offers a test of endurance and ability.

“Unfortunately trips of this magnitude require sound financial standing; hence they are impossible without sponsorship. We are asking for those willing to help us make it possible to send our boys to this tournament to contact us. We have talented learners who deserve to be on the tour but due to financial constraints, are unable to do so. A donation towards their fees may allow an underprivileged learner to have the opportunity of a lifetime,” said Deon.
