A 59-year-old man crashed through the perimeter wall of a property on the corner of Trezona Avenue and Jan van Rooyen Street.
The accident took place at about 11am (7 March). It is alleged that the man was returning from the doctor who gave him some form of medication, of which the side effects caused him to black out. He crashed over the traffic island and through the wall of well-know police officer Colonel André Laing’s property. The man sustained moderate injuries and was attended to by ER24.
Laing and his wife expressed their relief that the driver was not seriously injured but said the damage to the wall and house poses a problem as they are in the process of relocating to the Western Cape.
