Win tickets to Riaad Moosa’s show

Two sets of tickets up for grabs.

The award-winning comedian, actor, writer and presenter, Riaad Moosa will be hosting his one-man show – Life Begins – at Silverstar on 11 March.

He invites everyone to join in on figuring out if life really begins at 40. “Even though I am turning 40 this year, in many ways, I feel like I’m still crawling. I’m looking back at my journey from being an aspiring doctor, coming from a relatively conservative Muslim background with both my parents being doctors, and how I actually journeyed to becoming a stand-up comedian,” he said.

This show is a snapshot into the life of Riaad, who is a father of three children, a husband, comedian, actor and doctor. With all the current cultural and political issues thrown in, it promises to make you laugh until you cry.

Riaad said his show is very philosophical and existential. “It involves the normal issues of getting older while at the same time experiencing, at a maturity where I’m supposed to be wise, a world that is completely turned on its head. And it’s about how I negotiate all these things happening around me while trying to maintain a positive attitude. Through my comedic lens, I hope to put a different spin on that and hopefully I can enter my next 40 years with renewed vigour and excitement,” he said.

Tickets cost R150 per person and can be obtained at Computicket online and various outlets. The show starts at 8pm and is rated PG for language.

The Record has two sets of tickets to give away for this show. All you have to do is send your name, surname and contact details to adeleb@caxton.co.za, with Riaad Moosa in the subject line. The closing date for entries is 6 March at 12 noon.
