Laerskool Die Ruiter is proud of four of their athletes who qualified for the Gauteng Championships in March.
Ashleigh Gericke, Neo Siwela, Goitse Mochoane and Ernest Mokoena booked their places in the athletics showpiece with outstanding performances at the District Championships (D12) last week.
Ashleigh competed in the girls U/13 high jump final where she won a bronze medal with a distance of 1,25m. Neo was impressive as he won a gold medal in the boys U/12 150m. He crossed the finish line in a time of 20,37s and followed this up with a silver medal in the boys U/12 100m event. He completed the race in a time of 13,61s. Ernest won a gold medal in the boys U/13 800m event and also qualified to compete in the boys U/13 1 500m event. Goitse won a silver medal in the boys U/11 70 hurdles in a time of 15s.
