Make the West Rand great again

These business heads are looking to assist

Boitumelo Mpelo and Mkhaliphi Mnguniare are aiming to assist young entrepreneurs reach their goals of success.

The two businessmen, based in the Roodepoort CBD, have bold ideas to also assist the unemployed youth and make the West Rand a business hub. The duo also specialises in services, solutions and products because they feel Roodepoort does not offer enough. The two will also be assisting those in need by offering them training in digital signage, internet solutions, branding, marketing and business consulting.

“We will gladly help the youth who are in desperate need to draw up business plans and teach them how to build, run and maintain their own websites. We will also teach them client relation skills that will come in handy when they start looking for customers,” said Boitumelo.

The duo wants to share the expertise they have acquired through their own hard work and to assist in alleviating poverty by partnering with the struggling youth in their ventures.

“We want them to work with us to create and supply superior quality products. For too long, many of the City’s youth initiatives haven’t reached here on the West Rand, so we have to make something happen ourselves,” said Mkhaliphi.

Mkhalipi has vast experience, having worked for top FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) retail chains for 13 years in senior management roles. He also attended the RMDP programme for retail management leadership two years ago, and designed more than 80 websites last year for various clients on the West Rand and in Midrand. Boitumelo gained his experience in business incubators at the Awethu Project, practical selling skills at the Robert Marvelley Institute, he was in the top 10 at the IDC and SEFA, and participated in a business plan competition and the Entrepreneur Development Programme (EDP) at the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA).

“We will provide free training in the relevant skills so we can help people get work and drive the local economy of the West Rand,” they said.
