Slight decrease en fuel prices for March

Motorists must be sure to fill up tonight.

It is that time of the month again, when motorists can either rejoice about or be dismayed at the monthly petrol price change.

Tomorrow (1 March) there will be a slight decrease in fuel prices due to the strength of the rand against the US dollar. This has led to an 8c decrease in the petrol price, a 2c decrease in the diesel price and an 8c decrease in the price of illuminating paraffin.

But on 1 April, motorists are in for a shock, as there will be a 30c fuel levy increase per litre as well as a 9c increase in the Road Accident Fund levy, over and above the monthly increase or decrease.
