Models from HMC Models competed in various pageants recently, and achieved great results.
The pageants were hosted by Pageants SA at the Protea Hotel at the OR Tambo airport. Danika Smith, Karli Liebenberg, Marlena Potgieter, and Shikirah Roth competed in the Miss World and Queen of the World pageants while Mariela Romaneli competed in Miss Royal Valentine.
The 17-year old Shikirah won the title of Miss Teen World SA which affords her the opportunity to compete for the title of Miss Teen World, which will be held in Turkey later this year. She also placed as first princess in the Miss Teen Queen of the World.
The 10-year old Karli was chosen as first princess in both the Miss World SA and Queen of the World competitions.
Sasha Taylor, head coach and modelling director at the agency, said she was extremely proud of all the models, even if they did not place. “They all worked very hard and did their best,” she said.
“We do not only teach the girls how to walk and talk but try to teach them valuable skills they can use in everyday life situations,” Sasha said.
